Transport Scotland announced on 14 December 2010 that it was one of the only five successful in the bidding to join the 30m UK-wide 'Plugged-In Places' initiative.

The 'Plugged-In Places' initiative will result in the installation of over 200 charging points across Scotland. These will greatly help the commute to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Units like these will be capable of recharging electric vehicles in around 30 minutes.
