My solar panels are damaged

There are a number of reasons you may suspect you have an issue with your solar panels. It could be a very obvious problem with a smashed panel, but it could be a more complex issue like cell damage. Here are the most common problems we find with solar pv panels:

In reality the only fault which can be repaired is the connectors and the mounting equipment. . All other faults would require a complete panel replacement.

My solar PV is not generating

If you think your solar pv system has either stopped or reduced its normal generation then it could be  problem with a panel. Most systems are wired like water flowing through a hose pipe, one panel being faulty is like a foot on the hose. The difficulty is locating the actual panel at fault. In these situations we have to remove all the panels from the roof and test them individually. For people who have solaredge or microinverter pv systems it is a little easier to locate the fault solar panel.

Solar panels are usually under long guarantees. If you do have a faulty panel we can help to try and replace this under warranty. Most warranties however are return to base and therefore sending the panel back would be more expensive than the solar panel itself. The solar pv system should have all the same panels so it can be difficult to find older panels. In this situation you either loose the panel or install another small inverter .
